Camden Palace, London - Tuesday 23rd October 2001

The great thing about Feet First is that they occasionally have a great band on late at night, allowing you to see two gigs in one night. Tonight is one of those nights. Grand Theft Audio take to the stage at roughly 00:30 and proceed to kick through a short, fiery set to win over the indie/nu-punk kids of Camden Central.

The band were on form as usual with Chris posing like a rock star and Jay behaving like John Lydon's hyperactive mutant offspring, with Ritch and Ralph's ever dependable rhythm section - however I still have nagging doubts about the band. 'We Luv U' and 'Stoopid Ass' kick off proceedings tonight and the usual culprits are found on the set-list, including that woeful Beastie Boys cover (sorry - it's well covered but I fucking hate the Beasties with a passion). But tonight there's no 'As Good As It Gets' and no 'Drugs and Girls' - GTA's two best songs by a mile, so the gig was more than a little disappointing. Grand Theft Audio seem to be treading water at the moment and desperately need to get the album available in the UK. Another good gig by the boys, but the question is whether or not they can take it to the next level.
