| Biography |
In 1990 Ben and Giles Richards met Matt France at school all aged 11. They shared a love of 80's teen movies, comics and a disliking for school life.
A year later, inspired by the power of Nirvana, the three decided to start a band for themselves. The future was decided.
The next few years were spent watching movies, running from school bullies (and there were many), attempting to write songs and discovering a host of inspirational bands such as Descendents, Bad Religion, Weezer, Samiam, Ramones and many more.
The trio's first gig (as Winkle) didn't come until December 1996. They were energetic but nothing short of a mess, and the band knew it, so they decided to only play in public when they had new and improved songs to perform. These gigs that followed were played under various different guises.
In 1999 Matt, Ben and Giles named the band for the last time, after a recently penned song and a line in a favourite Daredevil comic. The Best Intentions were born.
January 2001 saw the release of The Best Intentions debut self-titled ep
released on 1970 Recordings. Sadly shortly after they decided to call it
quits. |
