It Started As A Joke

Ritalin mix power punk/pop with elements of mainstream indie throwing in hooks galore and singalong choruses for good measure.

For a small band from Colchester these guys have achieved some BIG things! In February 2001 they headlined a showcase at New York's Arlene Grocery which was so packed over 150 people were left waiting outside.

By July they were headlining the 4th of July celebration in front of an audience of 25,000! Having recorded tracks with Ed Stasium (The Ramones, Mick Jagger, Soul Asylum) and signed a distribution deal with UK indie record company 1970 recordings.

First single "It Started With A Joke" was released on November 12th 2001 and was picked up for airplay on BBC Radio 1's Steve Lamacq Evening Session the very next day. As if that wasn't enough b-side "Everywhere" is now the theme song for the forthcoming Disney movie "Max Keeble's Big Move".

Ritalin sadly split at the end of 2002
