Formed and based in
Southampton, Rat:Daddy are building a growing reputation for
their memorable rock songs and dazzling performances.
“The ease with which this band delivers is frightening; they punch with
a kiss. Don’t miss them, you'll be missing something from the very
fabric of your being!"
In 2003, the band’s debut ep ‘We Should Be
Going Crazy quickly sold out
of it’s first 1000 pressings. It was also picked up by an independent
label in Newcastle called Changes One. This enabled Rat:Daddy to carry
out several tours nationwide with a fantastic response. Later the band
would also tour Europe and are c urrently organising a trip back to
follow up on it’s success.
As a support act, Rat:Daddy have hugely impressed several of the larger
acts they have played with including The
Wildhearts, Dogs D’Amour,
Rachel Stamp, The Quireboys,
AntiProduct, Tuuli
& Hardcore Superstar. Ginger
from the Wildhearts was so impressed when they opened for his
band at Bristol Academy, that he personally asked the guys to support
him on one of his solo acoustic tours.
In late 2005 Rat:Daddy made some exciting line up changes and entered
the studio with producer Roger Tebbutt (Ginger,
Rachel Stamp, Gay Dad). The
results have been described as the strongest Rat:Daddy material to date,
"combining the colossal melodies of old, with a stunning broad new
approach to the sound and writing"
Rat:Daddy split in 2005
