After a hugely successful
USA tour, Rachel Stamp return to UK action with a new single, album and
tour.
Few bands inspire as much devotion as Rachel Stamp. The group have been
hailed in the press as "Pure Genius" (Kerrang!), "The UK’s
only rock n’ roll hope" (Classic Rock) and "An addictive antidote
to sexless Nu- Metal posturing" (Independent on Sunday) while the
‘kids’ have sent both the band’s albums (‘Hymns For Strange Children’
and ‘Oceans of Venus’)
to the top of the NME independent chart.
David Ryder-Prangley (lead singer, bass guitar, teen idol), Will
Crewdson (lead guitar, tall cool one) and Shaheena Dax (synthesizers,
1920’s silver screen chic) release a new double ‘A’ side single ‘HONEY’
c/w ‘QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE’ on their own Bitch Vinyl imprint on November
15th. It’s a double ‘A’ side because the true magnificence of this band
can’t be captured on one cut alone.
Coming on like an unhinged hybrid of Black Sabbath and Prince, ‘HONEY’
is a slice of true heartbreak rock n’ roll. A call-to-arms for pissed
off kids all over the world to break out of their suburban prisons and
make their dreams come true. Full to the brim with blood guts and
glitter. A video has been made by acclaimed British film maker Craig
Griffith, so keep ‘em peeled!
‘QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE’, on the other side of the rock n’ roll coin, is
a laser beam blast of foot stomping, hand clapping, head exploding
Saturday night devilry. Complete with rockabilly guitar solo and Burundi
drums, it will leave you bleeding on the dancefloor…
Both tracks are from the forthcoming album ‘RAVENOUS’, set for release
early 2005. And if that ain’t enough there’s an exclusive new track
‘CREEPS’ appearing on the cover mounted CD of the October issue of METAL
HAMMER.
What about the tour?! What about the tour??!! Well, if you want to know
why everyone from Rick Rubin to Gene Simmons was calling for guestlist
on the band’s recent USA trek then you’ll be sure to get dressed up and
prepared for a life changing experience at any one of the 28 dates
listed below (what else is there to do in Winter?). Packed with passion,
glamour and riotous energy, Rachel Stamp’s gigs are astounding. The
audience looks cooler than most bands. It’s LOUD. Check it out.
So let’s re-cap: RACHEL STAMP. They look cool. They sound cool.
Teenagers like them. Soon they will take over the world.
‘HONEY’ / ‘QUEEN OF THE UNIVERSE’ released 15/11/04 on Bitch Vinyl.
Ex drummer Robin Guy previously played drums for AntiProduct
and Sack Trick
Lead singer David Ryder Prangley has also been known to delve in to the
