Biography |

|
Formed in a sleepy suburb of Southampton,
England, but the less said about that town the better. After quickly
making a name for themselves in the South of England Plastik up sticks
and moved to London
Sighting influences from Bowie, Roxy Music, Kate Bush to the Smiths;
it's this successful blending of boundaries that allows Plastik to
flourish musically and yet create a sound that is identifiable as their
own.
Plastik's last promotional CD "CCTV", (put out on their own "Nuisance"
label) proved extremely popular on the UK university circuit and
received extensive radio play on many university radio stations. This
lead to live acoustic radio sessions and interviews.
"He Comes To Take Her Outside" is Plastik's current independent release
which they intend to promote via a UK tour early next year.
Having already forged themselves cult status on the live circuit,
Plastik will soon be kicking down the door… |
""CCTV' has a swagger and sophistication,
while spiky pop nugget 'Bravado'is a catchy little blighter."
BBC RADIO 1
"Consistantly ahead of the curve" LOGO MAGAZINE
“It’s the blend of strong rhythms, edgy guitars, hysteric subject matter
and techno keyboard bloops and blips. The front man has the moves too”
DROWNEDINSOUND
"Plastik have their neurotic fingers on the pulse, but you'd better take
their temperature"
WHISPERING & HOLLERIN'
"‘CCTV’ shows a maturity and togetherness that some bands struggle for
years to achieve and still never attain. This three piece should
certainly have your attention." FAKEDIY
“Gareth wails and pirouettes, singing lyrics somewhere between the
kitchen sink drama of Morrissey and the urban poetic realism of Suede”
