In July 2002 with a tour with Hermano (featuring John
Garcia of Kyuss) booked the band had to replace Si with current
drummer Aynsley Dickinson, Aynsley had formerly been in the critically
acclaimed band Hardware. The tour was a great success, and landed
the band a great deal of exposure including some great reviews as well
as being added to many playlists throughout the world including stations
such as Total Rock and XFM.
Late 2002 Ninedenine secured the prestigious honour of being supported
on all live dates by Jagermeister – every rock n’ rollers favourite
poison!
2003 has been spent playing live and dealing with more than a fair share
of industry bullshit, the latter half of the year has also seen the band
recording the follow up to the ‘Scars’ EP...
‘A New Shade of Black for the Soul’ will be released February 2004. It’s
a definitive step on from the last recording and has been a real labour
of love for the band; it captures Ninedenine in incendiary form, doing
what they do best, laying down slab heavy rhythms and tempering them
with melodies to die for...
'The British are on the march
- and you are about to be assaulted'... Malcolm Dome, Metal Hammer
'miss them at your peril'... Patrizia Mazzuoccola, Powerplay
'supplying a potent brew of hard-hitters'... Ronnie Kerswell, Rocksound |
